Welcome to the Cyber Wing Conference!!
A hybrid Cyber Security Conference/Careers Fair organised and ran by the UWE CTF Falcons Cyber Security Society, a Students Union @ UWE society. The Cyber Wing Conference (CWC) offers students from the University of the West of England and beyond the opportunity to engage with industry on an even footing. Offering all the staples of an industry level Cyber Security Conference, the CWC gives students the opportunity to talk about cyber related projects they are passionate about alongside mainstream cyber security experts. As well as engage with workshops, challenges and attend careers development focused talks from some of the sectors biggest names.
The CWC aims to give industry experts and students alike a platform to promote themselves, their organisations and connect on a level playing field.

Location: School of Business and Law, University West of England, Coldharbour Lane, Bristol, BS16 1QY.
Start time: Registration 08:15-onwards
Finish: 17:30
After Party: 18:00 onwards.
Tickets will go on sale via our Student Union portal from the 1st of February 2025. Look out for announcements via our social media/LinkedIn around that time.
The CWC will run different Tracks all aimed at providing attendees with high quality engaging talks on all manner of cyber security related topics. As well as careers advice from organisations and industry professionals.
Track 1: Conference Track
The Conference Track will offer the balance of the main conference talks and key note speakers. As well as provide those Student Voice speakers confident enough to talk in front of a large room the opportunity to present themselves and their works.
Track 2: Student Voice Track
The Student Voice Track is where students will have the opportunity to present projects and presentations on cyber relate topics they are passionate about. Student Voice presentations at 15 minutes long and support and mentorship will be given to all Student Voice speakers. The Student Voice Track will also host a series of conference talks.

Track 3: Careers Track
Primarily aimed at student attendees the Careers Track offers organisations and industry professionals with valuable insight into early career development the opportunity to engage with students from across the region. Offering sagely advice and promoting their organisation in a more traditional careers fair fashion.
In addition to the conference tracks the CWC will have all manner of activities to keep attendees entertained including hands on workshops and labs, the obligatory locking village, cyber games room and the UWE CTF Falcons Cyber Escape Room. More details of workshops and labs will be posted once they are confirmed.

Getting Involved
If you'd like to get involved with the Cyber Wing Conference then there are a number of ways you can take part:
Guest Speaker: If you'd like to volunteer to act as a guest speaker then please use the following button that links to our Call for Papers form. We welcome applications for talks from all manner industry professionals both experienced speakers or first time speakers, and on all manner of cyber/IT related issues.
Deadline for the Call for Papers is March 31st, 2025. Successful applicants will be informed by April 16th, 2025.
Student Voice Speaker: If you are a current university student studying BSc, MSc or PhD and you'd like to give a talk on a project or cyber related topic you are passionate about we'd love to help make that happen for you. We have 20 Student Voice slots available in our schedule. Student Voice presentations are 15 minutes long. You'll also receive support and mentorship in the build up to the conference.
Deadline for Student Voice Papers is March 31st, 2025. Successful applicants will be informed by April 16th, 2025.
Student Voice Mentors: If you're an industry professional or academic and you'd be interested in volunteering some of your time to help engage with Student Voice speakers in the build up to the conference. Then we'd love your support. Student Voice Mentors will be asked to offer advice and guidance on public speaking, critique the students voice speakers presentation and give constructive feedback in the build up to the conference. To help refine the presentation and empower the speaker to take those first brave steps into the world of industrial conference speaking.
